Vera is a seaside town in Andalusia, on the coast of Almería province, with wide sandy beaches and a historic centre. The choice splits in two: the coastal Vera Playa with beachfront hotels and apartments, and the quieter Vera Pueblo with its main square and Renaissance church. The Almería coast has a clear season. It is priciest in high summer, in June, July and August, when the beaches are full and temperatures climb past 35 degrees. It is cheapest in winter and early spring, especially in February, when rates can drop by around half, and in May, when the weather is already warm but the crowds have not arrived. Prices climb in the summer season, from June to August, when the beaches are full and the heat peaks. It also gets pricier in early September, during the Feria de Vera, when the town comes alive with Andalusian music, dance and local food. In winter and early spring the beach is quiet and rates are the lowest of the year, which suits travellers after peace and a cheap seaside break.

Winter and early spring are cheapest, especially February, when prices can drop by around half. It is priciest in June, July and August, at the height of the beach season. May is a good compromise: warm and still cheap.
Off season, a few days to two weeks is enough, but for July, August and early September it pays to book well ahead, as the Vera Playa hotels fill quickly. A stay starting on a Friday usually works out cheaper.
Vera Playa is the coastal part with beachfront hotels and apartments, handy for families, couples and beach lovers, including naturist areas. Vera Pueblo is the historic centre with the main square and fortress-church, quieter and cheaper, with the sea a short ride away.
