Hotels in Łódź: prices, timing and areas
Łódź is the former capital of Polish textiles, today a city of culture, festivals and business, with factory buildings turned into centres like Manufaktura and the longest commercial promenade in Europe, Piotrkowska Street. Guests usually stay two nights, splitting their time between Piotrkowska, Manufaktura and the atmospheric OFF Piotrkowska. This list has 1 277 properties, from a room in an apartment to five-star hotels in former factories. Below is what really drives the price of a stay in Łódź: the month, the day of the week and the type of property.
When to book a stay in Łódź for less
Łódź runs to the rhythm of a business city, so prices fall differently here than in resort towns. December is the priciest, during the festive events, when rates can run about two-thirds above the average. November is the cheapest, when tourist traffic eases and prices fall about half. Tellingly, Saturday works out cheapest, while Tuesday tends to be the dearest, as business travellers fill the city midweek. If you plan a weekend break, you catch the best rates. The best prices come from booking a short time ahead, about two weeks before arrival.
What a stay costs by property type
Łódź has a fair spread of prices, so a room in an apartment on Piotrkowska and a five-star hotel in a former factory are some way apart. The cheapest sleep is in apartments and hostels; you pay the most for upper-tier design hotels. Below are indicative nightly rates.
| Property type | Indicative price per night (from) |
| Apartment or hostel | from approx. 160 zł |
| Three-star hotel | from approx. 250 zł |
| Four-star hotel | from approx. 340 zł |
| Five-star and premium hotel | from approx. 520 zł |
Indicative rates for a double room, outside the December peak. Midweek, when business travellers come to Łódź, the same hotels can cost more than at the weekend, so check the real price for your dates in the search above.
Where a stay is cheaper and where it costs more
Most people look for a room in the very centre, on Piotrkowska Street, since from here you can walk to the restaurants, cafés and most of the sights. This area also has the widest choice of hotels and apartments. The Manufaktura area is very popular too, with a former factory full of shops, museums and restaurants and modern hotels around it. It is atmospheric and often cheaper around OFF Piotrkowska, in former works turned into bars and lofts. Trams and buses run conveniently across the city, while Piotrkowska itself is walked on foot.
Which stay in Łódź suits whom
- First time in Łódź. The easiest base is the centre on Piotrkowska. From here you can walk the whole promenade, and the tram quickly takes you to Manufaktura and other sights.
- For families. Hotels and apartments near Manufaktura, with family rooms. Easy to mix shopping and museums in the former factory with a visit to the nearby water park or zoo.
- For couples. Boutique and design hotels in former factories and around OFF Piotrkowska, close to bars and nightlife. Everything is a short walk from here for dinner and a stroll along the lit-up Piotrkowska.
- With breakfast. Many hotels in the centre and on Piotrkowska include breakfast in the rate. Handy before a day of sightseeing or a business meeting.
- On business. Chain hotels in the centre and by Manufaktura suit a business trip, close to the Atlas Arena and the exhibition grounds. Book midweek dates earlier, as that is the peak of demand.

When Łódź is more expensive
December is the dearest, during the Christmas markets and concerts at the Atlas Arena, when prices climb noticeably. It also gets pricier when big events come to town: festivals, trade fairs or arena concerts can fill the hotels in the centre. In spring, from April to June, the city is at its most pleasant, when the parks bloom and the festival season starts, and in summer the open-air concerts come alive. It is cheapest and quietest in November, out of the tourist season.
