Book a transferTurkey lies where Europe meets Asia, combining lively Istanbul, the resorts of the Turkish Riviera and the extraordinary landscapes of Cappadocia. It is famous for seaside all-inclusive resorts, a rich history and warm hospitality. The choice of stays is huge, from hostels and cave hotels to sprawling resorts. We list 17 734 properties across 884 cities. Below you will find indicative prices, the most popular destinations, season tips and transport notes.
The price depends on the standard, the city and the dates. The table shows indicative nightly rates for a double room. The cheapest month is usually February, while July, at the peak of the beach season, is the priciest. Seaside all-inclusive resorts cost more than city hotels. Booking ahead usually brings better rates.

|---|---|
| Hostels and budget stays | from approx. 900 TL |
| 3-star hotels | from approx. 2 000 TL |

Beyond the room, prices are moderate, and many resorts run on an all-inclusive basis. A meal in a local restaurant is inexpensive, and the bazaars tempt with handicrafts. The currency is the Turkish lira. Cards are widely accepted, but cash is handy at markets and with taxi drivers. ATMs are everywhere, though it is best to check the rate before exchanging.
The best time is spring from April to May and early autumn in September and October, when it is warm but not scorching. Summer can be very hot on the coast, and it is also the price peak. Winter is cooler and cheaper, good for sightseeing in Istanbul. Room prices are lowest in February and highest in July.
The main airports are Istanbul (IST and Sabiha Gokcen) and the resort airports of Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum and Izmir. With Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and budget carriers you can fly from across Europe. Around the country there are comfortable long-distance buses, high-speed trains between the big cities and cheap domestic flights. The cities have metros, trams and ferries, and Istanbul also has a light rail. Ferries link Turkey with the Greek islands.
A few recognisable properties from different parts of the country for reference:
Prices are usually lowest in February, outside the beach season. July tends to be the most expensive. Booking a few weeks ahead usually helps you find a better rate.
The most popular is Istanbul, which has the widest choice of hotels, followed closely by the Riviera resorts such as Antalya and Belek.
The highest rates are at the 5-star resorts on the Riviera at the height of summer and in the best Istanbul hotels. Inland cities such as Ankara and the off-season are cheaper.
Citizens of over seventy countries enter visa-free for stays of up to 90 days, while some others get an e-visa online. A valid passport is required. The details depend on your citizenship.
