Where to stay in Barbados: most popular areas

Most hotels are on the south and west coasts. These are the destinations travellers choose most often:

When is the best time to visit Barbados

The climate is tropical year-round, with the best conditions from December to May, with temperatures around 29 to 31 degrees and little rain. That is also the peak season, when prices are highest. Outside it, lower rates are easier to find.

Getting to and around Barbados

The only airport is Grantley Adams, with direct flights from the US, Canada and the UK, plus other Caribbean islands. There are no regular ferries. Around the island, government buses in blue and yellow run alongside private ZR vans that work like informal taxis. A ticket costs only cents. You can rent a car, but you need a local permit from the rental agency, and care is needed on coastal roads.
