Green Tax rates in the Maldives have undergone significant changes, effective 1 January 2025, In line with the 14th amendment to the Maldives Tourism Act, the updated rates have applied to all tourist establishments, including resorts, guesthouses, and vessels.
Under the new changes, Green Tax is doubled for most establishments. Resorts, integrated tourist resorts, resort hotels, tourist guesthouses with more than 50 rooms, and vessels now charge USD 12 per guest per night.
