Hotels in Saint-Raphaël: prices and the best time to book
Saint-Raphaël is a seaside town on the French Riviera, at the foot of the red rocks of the Esterel massif. Unlike Monaco, Nice or Saint-Tropez it is calmer and cheaper, with the town beach Plage du Veillat, a seafront promenade, a harbour and a pedestrian street full of cafes and shops. It is a good base for a beach holiday, water sports and trips along the coast, and it is popular with families. Room rates here are clearly seasonal: in the summer peak they can climb several times over the off-season level. Our list covers 1 073 properties. Below you will find real nightly rates, the cheapest dates to book and a short guide to the area.
When to book for the lowest price
The season in Saint-Raphaël is set by beach weather. It is priciest and busiest at the height of summer, in July and August, when rates can climb several times above the rest of the year and weekends run two to three times the weekday price. It is noticeably calmer and cheaper just either side of the peak, in May, June and September, when the weather still suits swimming but there are fewer crowds and lower prices. It is cheapest off-season, in autumn and winter, when some properties cut rates by almost half. Within the week it is dearer at the weekend and cheaper midweek. The best summer rates come from booking a few weeks ahead.
How much a stay in Saint-Raphaël costs by property type
Most of it comes down to standard and the time of year. The cheapest option is studios and rooms to rent and simple guesthouses, often with a kitchenette, handy for a couple or family. 3-star hotels near the beach sit higher, and a four-star place with a pool or spa, or a five-star villa by the sea, runs a multiple of that. The rates below are real starting prices per night from current offers.
| Property type | Price per night (from) |
| Studios and budget rooms | from approx. €70 |
| Apartments and guesthouses | from approx. €95 |
| 3-star hotels | from approx. €98 |
| 4-star hotels | from approx. €168 |
| 5-star hotels and seafront villas | from approx. €430 |
Indicative nightly rates, strongly dependent on the season (noticeably higher in July and August and at weekends than off-season). Check exact prices and availability by selecting your dates in the search above.
Which hotel suits whom
- Families. Spacious hotels near the beach and with a pool work well, such as Best Western Plus La Marina or La Réserve Esterel, within a walk of the promenade and the harbour.
- Couples. For a romantic stay, intimate hotels with a sea view work well, such as La Réserve Esterel or Hôtel du Vieux Port, close to the centre and the seafront street.
- Breakfast included. Hotels with breakfast in the rate, such as Hôtel de Flore or Golf Hôtel de Valescure & Spa NUXE, combine comfort with a good location.
- Golf and spa. For golfers the Golf Hôtel de Valescure sits well, by the Valescure golf course, away from the beach bustle.

Where to stay
The handiest area is the town centre, around Plage du Veillat, the harbour and the station, where most hotels, restaurants and shops cluster and the sea is a few steps away. It is a good base if you want to mix the beach with town life without a car. It is calmer and greener in the districts along the coast, such as Boulouris, Le Dramont, Agay and Anthéor, where intimate properties with a sea view sit among the pines and the red rocks of the Esterel, handy if you want quiet. From there the centre is a drive or a coastal train ride away.
When Saint-Raphaël is more expensive
The season in Saint-Raphaël is set by the beaches and the weather. The highest prices and biggest crowds fall in July and August, when the coast fills with holidaymakers and rooms need booking well ahead. It is pleasant but cheaper just either side of the peak, in May, June and September, when the sea is already warm and the crowds thinner; the local Fête de la Saint-Raphaël, with parades and music, takes place in late September. It is calmest and cheapest off-season, in autumn and winter, when the coast empties and prices drop noticeably. A good time for seafront walks without the crowds, if you do not need to swim.
