Hotels in Pärnu: prices, season and areas
Pärnu is Estonia's summer capital, a Baltic resort with a long sandy beach and a spa culture that grew around historic mud baths. The town is small and compact, so you can walk from the centre to the sand and cycle across it in about fifteen minutes. The list holds 565 properties, from a room in a family home to a spa hotel right by the beach. Below is what moves the price of a room in Pärnu the most: the month you arrive, how far ahead you book and how close you sleep to the water.
When to book a room in Pärnu for the lowest price
The gap between winter and summer here is unusually wide, far wider than in a town that works all year. February comes out cheapest, averaging around 33 EUR per night, a drop of roughly 44 percent against the rest of the year, and against the busiest months the difference reaches 60 percent. August sits at the other end at around 139 EUR, because that is when the beach runs at full tilt. Book at least 22 days ahead, after that rates climb. A typical stay lasts 2 nights, so the month you pick can decide the whole budget.
Room prices by property type
Pärnu offers a wide spread for such a small town, because several large spa houses operate alongside ordinary hotels. The cheapest beds are in family rooms and apartments away from the beach strip, the priciest in hotels with full treatment facilities. Indicative nightly rates below.
| Property type | Price per night (from) |
| Room in a family home | from approx. 26 EUR |
| Apartment | from approx. 28 EUR |
| Motel | from approx. 40 EUR |
| Guesthouse | from approx. 49 EUR |
| Hostel | from approx. 53 EUR |
| Three-star hotel | from approx. 61 EUR |
| Spa hotel | from approx. 78 EUR |
Indicative rates for a double room outside the August peak. In Pärnu the calendar decides almost everything, because the same room in February and in August costs entirely different money. Check the real amount for your dates in the search box above.
Where a room in Pärnu costs less, and where more
The rule here is simple: the closer to the sand, the higher the rate. Hotels by the beach average around 107 EUR per night, roughly 40 percent above the town-wide average of about 63 EUR. Most properties cluster in the beach strip and in the centre, Kesklinn. The cheapest beds are across the river in Ülejõe and in Rääma. The town is small enough that a room in a cheaper district still means a quarter of an hour on foot or by bike to the old town.
| Area | Price per night (from) |
| Ülejõe (across the river) | from approx. 26 EUR |
| Rääma | from approx. 28 EUR |
| Kesklinn (centre) | from approx. 49 EUR |
| Raeküla | from approx. 51 EUR |
| Beach area | from approx. 72 EUR |
Which stay in Pärnu suits whom
- Families. The best marks from families go to Estonia Resort Hotel & Spa, Strand Spa & Conference Hotel and Rannahotell. The Tervise Paradiis water park sits in town, and the Lottemaa theme park lies just outside it.
- Couples. Villa Ammende, an art nouveau villa among oaks, and Frost Boutique Hotel in the old town are the addresses most often picked for a weekend for two.
- Breakfast included. Guests single out the breakfast at Hansalinn, Hotel Victoria and Hotel Villa Wesset.
- Spa and mud baths. This is what Pärnu is known for. Hedon Spa & Hotel stands right by the beach, while Estonia Medical Spa & Hotel, Viiking Spa Hotel and Spa Tervis run extensive treatment wings.
- On a budget. The cheapest beds are in Ülejõe and Rääma, and Reldor Motell holds some of the lowest rates in town.
- Without a car. Pärnu has no passenger airport of its own, the nearest one is in Tallinn. Airport transfers are offered by Wasa Resort, Spa Tervise Paradiis, Carolina and Spa Tervis, among others. The bus station sits next to the centre, and the town itself is easiest on foot or by bike.

When Pärnu gets more expensive
The season opens in June and runs to the end of August, when the bay is at its warmest and July temperatures reach about 17 degrees. That is when festivals fill the town: a film festival, beach music events and blues days. Free rooms in the centre and by the beach disappear fastest then. In winter Pärnu changes character and lives mainly off its spas, which is why February comes out so cheap.
