The town is small and easy on foot, along the seafront promenade with its cafes. Most hotels and apartments cluster in the centre, a few steps from the beach and the harbour. It is quieter in Rova Bay on the north-western coast and in nearby Porat, a few kilometres from the centre. Pine forests and pebble beaches like Rupa Beach lie all around.
