Hotels in Lagos: room prices and when to book
Lagos is Nigeria's largest city, a coastal metropolis on the Atlantic spread across islands and the mainland. Upscale Victoria Island is known for its beaches, restaurants and nightlife, Ikoyi next door is quieter and elegant, and Ikeja is the business hub by the airport. Guests stay in apartments, business hotels and lavish properties with pools. Prices are quoted in naira and stays usually run a few nights. Our list covers 949 properties. Below you will find real nightly rates, the cheapest dates and a few pointers on where to stay.
When to book for the lowest price
The cheapest stretch is the rainy season, from April to October, when fewer visitors come. August is the cheapest month, with rates about a third below the average. The dry season, from November to March, is pricier, with better weather and a peak around the holidays and the carnival. Across the week Saturday is the cheapest day and Thursday the priciest, when business travellers arrive. For a set date, book ahead, ideally around two months before you come.

Where to stay in Lagos
Your choice of district matters in Lagos, because the city is vast and traffic can stretch every trip. Victoria Island is the most touristy part, with beaches, hotels and venues. Ikoyi next door is quieter and more elegant. Ikeja, on the mainland, is the business area and sits closest to Murtala Muhammed airport, so it suits a layover. Yaba and Akoka around the university offer the cheapest apartments.
