Welcome to the Gasthof Kreischberg, your ideal retreat at the Murau-Kreischberg ski resort! Owned and operated by a dedicated Hungarian family, we pride ourselves on our warm hospitality. Our staff is fluent in Hungarian, German, and English, ensuring you feel at home during your stay.
Whether you seek relaxation or adventure, our guest house is the perfect choice. Enjoy exhilarating skiing in the winter or embark on scenic hiking trails in the summer. Nestled amidst breathtaking mountain views, Gasthof Kreischberg is designed to be a welcoming haven for you and your family.
Our charming, family- and dog-friendly guest house features 10 comfortable rooms. The historic building dates back to the 1300s, making it over 700 years old and the oldest structure in the neighbourhood. Originally established as a stop for travelling postmen, it was known as “Gasthof zur Post” and even housed a small post office. Remarkably, our Gasthof predates the neighbouring church, and many workers involved in its construction found rest within our walls.
As a protected historic site, please note that the size of our rooms and bathrooms cannot be altered. We kindly ask that you consider this when booking and refrain from concerns regarding bathroom dimensions.
Recently renovated, Gasthof Kreischberg blends modern comforts with authentic design. Our rooms feature natural wooden furnishings, and each bathroom is equipped with a toilet and shower. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property.
Start your day with a generous buffet breakfast, offering unlimited options for all our guests. In the evenings, we are pleased to provide a buffet dinner upon request (please reserve in advance).
Conveniently located, Gasthof Kreischberg is easily accessible from the main road (number 97) between Murau and St. Georgen. Upon entering the village, turn right immediately after the SPAR supermarket, and follow the road toward the church; our guest house will be on your left.
In the summer, our location serves as an excellent starting point for excursions. We also offer an open parking area for our guests' convenience.
In the winter, you will find the Kreischberg ski resort just 1,200 meters away. We provide a secure storage room for your ski boots during the winter and bicycles in the summer. The Murradweg bicycle trail runs right past our property, and the gondola lift, along with a large skate park, is only a 5-minute drive away.
For those looking for more activities, tennis courts and riding facilities are also a short 5-minute drive away, and guests can enjoy rafting at a location just 10 minutes from us.
