Stays in Fažana: prices and the best time to book
Fažana is a small fishing town on the Istrian coast, right next to Pula, facing the Brijuni archipelago. It is the main departure point for ferries to Brijuni National Park, a group of fourteen islands with Roman ruins, a safari and dinosaur footprints. The town lives by its harbour, seafront promenade, pebble beaches and taverns serving grilled sardines and local olive oil. Accommodation is mostly seaside apartments and rooms, guesthouses and a handful of hotels, so guests often stay longer. Three or four days is enough to see Fažana and Brijuni, and as a base for Pula and Istria the town works for a full week. This list holds 682 properties. Below you will find the dates with lower rates, prices by property type and specific addresses with figures.
When booking in Fažana costs the least
The cheapest month is May, when prices can run around two fifths below the height of the season. June and the first half of autumn are also good value, with the sea still warm and fewer crowds. The peak is July and August, when temperatures reach 25 to 30 degrees and seafront apartments go quickly. Across the week the mid-week days are cheaper, and the weekend is the priciest, as Saturdays draw the most arrivals. For the holiday peak and long summer weekends it pays to book ahead, while out of season a place is usually available on the day.

Where to stay in Fažana
The handiest area for a first visit is around the harbour and the historic centre, within walking distance of the Brijuni ferry terminal, the seafood restaurants and the main beaches. Those after quiet and direct beach access choose the southern promenade with its pebble coves. The centre is compact and pedestrian, so you get around Fažana on foot, while a bicycle is useful for longer routes along the coast. Ferries to Brijuni leave from the harbour, and a bus or a car takes you to Pula and around Istria.
Which Fažana stay fits whom
- Families. A stay in the centre or by the beach works well, with a flat promenade and shallow, pebbly water, close to the harbour. The day is filled by a boat trip to Brijuni with its safari and dinosaur footprints and a swim in the calm coves.
- Couples. For a trip for two, the harbour area is good, with dinner at a seafood tavern and an evening walk along the promenade, and a boat trip to Brijuni or an outing to nearby Rovinj for the day.
- Active travellers. Kayaking, snorkelling and cycling along the coast pair here with full-day trips to the Brijuni islands, so properties close to the harbour and the promenade are handy.
- As a base for Istria. Fažana sits next to Pula, so it serves as a quiet base for exploring Pula, Rovinj and the rest of the peninsula, especially with a car.
- On a budget. Simple rooms and apartments away from the seafront are the cheapest, from about € 90 a night.

When Fažana gets more expensive
It is priciest at the height of summer, in July and August, when the seafront apartments are most in demand and temperatures reach 30 degrees. Demand is also pushed up by summer festivals and events in town and by weekend arrivals. May and September outside the peak are gentler on the wallet, and winter is quiet and the cheapest. Bear in mind this is a seaside resort close to Brijuni, so the weather and the holiday calendar set the price more than anything else.
