Book a transferKosovo is a small Balkan country with Ottoman old towns, Orthodox monasteries and the Prokletije mountains. The currency is the euro, and room prices are among the lowest in Europe. We list 1 630 properties across 27 cities: from hostels and guesthouses to 4-star hotels in Pristina. Below you will find indicative prices, the most popular destinations, season tips and transport notes.
The price depends on the standard, the city and the dates. The table shows indicative nightly rates for a double room. The cheapest month is usually October, while March is the priciest. Booking ahead usually brings better rates.
| Property standard | Indicative price per night (from) |
|---|---|
| Hostels and guesthouses | from approx. 26 € |
| 3-star hotels | from approx. 42 € |
| 4-star hotels | from approx. 66 € |

Nightly rates vary between cities. Here are indicative prices per night for a double room:

|---|---|
| Pristina | from approx. 42 € |

Kosovo combines Ottoman towns, medieval monasteries and mountains, so a trip fits easily into a few days.
Beyond the room, daily costs are among the lowest in Europe. A coffee costs around a euro, and a meal at a local restaurant a few euros. The currency is the euro, even though Kosovo is not part of the eurozone. Cards are accepted in hotels and larger venues, but cash matters at bazaars and in smaller places. ATMs are common in the cities.
The most pleasant time for sightseeing is May to September, when it is warm and dry. Summer can be hot in the valleys, but the evenings are pleasant. October is usually the cheapest in the price data, and March the most expensive. The ski season in Brezovica runs from December to March, when mountain prices rise.
International flights land at Pristina airport, the country only airport. Around Kosovo you travel mainly by bus, which links all the larger cities, and by minibus on shorter routes. Rail links are limited, so the bus is usually faster. Renting a car gives the most freedom for the mountains and the monasteries. Many travellers, including from the European Union, enter visa-free for stays of up to 90 days. The exact rules depend on your citizenship.
A few recognisable properties from different cities for reference:
Prices are usually lowest in October. March tends to be the most expensive. Booking a few weeks ahead usually helps you find a better rate.
The most popular destination is Pristina, followed by Prizren. These cities offer the widest choice of hotels in every standard.
The highest rates are in central Pristina and during the ski season in Brezovica. Guesthouses in the smaller cities, and the off-season, are cheaper.
Many travellers, including from the European Union, enter Kosovo visa-free for stays of up to 90 days. The currency is the euro. The exact rules depend on your citizenship, so it is worth checking before the trip.
