  • La Digue. A quiet island you get around by bicycle, famous for Anse Source d'Argent beach.
  • Beau Vallon (Mahé). The island's most popular beach, a diving base with restaurants.

This is a beach-and-nature destination, where the islands are easy to combine in one trip.

  • Beau Vallon. The most famous beach on Mahé, great for a swim, snorkelling and diving.
  • Anse Lazio. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world, on Praslin, with turquoise water and white sand.
  • Bird Island. An island of birds and giant land tortoises, a paradise for nature lovers.

A local bus ticket is about 7 SCR. Cards are accepted at larger hotels, but with small vendors it is better to have cash.

When is the best time to visit Seychelles

The climate is equatorial and warm all year. The most pleasant months are April, May, October and November, between the hot, humid period and the cooler winds. These are also good for diving, when the water is calm and clear.

Getting to and around Seychelles

You can only reach Seychelles by plane, at the international airport near Victoria on Mahé, with connections from Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Air Seychelles flies between the islands, several times a day to Praslin. There are also ferries (such as Cat Cocos) and Zil Air helicopter flights. Mahé and Praslin have buses and car rental (driving is on the left), and you get around La Digue by bicycle. Note that accommodation must be booked before arrival, as proof is checked at the border.
