The currency is the euro. The country is expensive, with a mid-range restaurant meal costing about 25-35 euros. The exception is public transport, which is free across the whole country. Most shops take cards, though it is worth carrying some cash. ATMs are common.
The climate is temperate, with no extremes. The best time to visit is between May and September, when the days are warm and sunny. June is the most expensive month for a room, August the cheapest. Spring and autumn are quieter, good for the capital and the nearby castles.
Flights from many European cities land at Luxembourg Airport, including from London, Paris and Amsterdam. Direct trains run from Trier in Germany, Paris and Metz in France, and Brussels. By car, the easiest entry is by motorway from the west or from France. On the ground, public transport is free, with trains, buses and trams in the capital, so getting around the country is cheap and simple.
A few recognisable properties from different cities for reference:
Prices are usually lowest in August. June tends to be the most expensive. Booking ahead usually helps you find a better rate.
The most popular destination is the capital, Luxembourg City. It has the widest choice of hotels and the most attractions within walking distance.

Yes. Across the whole country, public transport, meaning trains, buses and trams, is free for everyone, including tourists. This greatly lowers the cost of getting around.
