Hotels, restaurants and shops for tourists take cards, and you will find ATMs in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville. Groceries for a few days cost about 15,000 KHR (3.70 USD), and a meal in a cheap local restaurant about 14,000 KHR (3.50 USD). US dollars are in widespread use as cash.
The best time is from November to April, after the rainy season, when it is dry. Temperatures vary little over the year, averaging around 28 degrees. September in the rainy season is the cheapest, while November at the start of the dry season is the priciest.
The main airport is Phnom Penh, served by the national carrier Cambodia Angkor Air with flights from Thailand and China. Buses from Vietnam cross the border, while from Thailand you change at the crossing. Within the country tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis run (Siem Reap has no city network), and comfortable Giant Ibis and Golden Bayon coaches link the cities. Domestic flights with Cambodia Angkor Air and Bassaka Air run between Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville. A car is best rented with a driver.
