Book a transferGibraltar is a British Overseas Territory at the southern tip of Spain, famous for the Rock looming over the strait. British customs, a Mediterranean climate and a view of two continents come together here. The currency is the pound. We list 160 properties, from guesthouses to 5-star hotels. Below you will find indicative prices, the best areas, season tips and transport notes.
The price depends on the standard, the location and the dates. The table shows indicative nightly rates for a double room. The cheapest month is usually January, while April is the priciest. Gibraltar is small with few hotels, so it is worth booking ahead.

Nightly rates vary between areas. Here are indicative prices per night for a double room:
| Area | Indicative price per night (from) |
|---|---|
| Town Centre | from approx. £110 |
| Ocean Village | from approx. £130 |
| Main Street | from approx. £100 |
| La Línea (Spanish side) | from approx. £50 |
You can see all of Gibraltar in one or two days, and most attractions cluster around the Rock.
Prices are close to British levels. ATMs are everywhere and most places accept cards. A public transport ticket is about £1.35. Daily supermarket shopping runs roughly £20-30. The Spanish side of the border can be cheaper, which is why some travellers eat or sleep in La Línea.
The Mediterranean climate means good weather for most of the year. Rooms are cheapest in January and priciest in April and at the peak of the spring and summer season. Summer can be hot and crowded, while spring and autumn are the most comfortable for exploring the Rock.
Gibraltar has its own airport with regular flights from London, Bristol, Manchester, Casablanca and Tangier. The nearest train station is in Algeciras, Spain, with links into Andalusia. Buses connect Gibraltar with Granada, Seville, Cadiz and Malaga. Crossing the border by car can be slow, though it is open 24 hours. Within Gibraltar the best way to get around is by bus (the Gibraltar Bus Company) or on foot, as everything is close. Despite its British status, you drive on the right here.
A few recognisable properties for reference:
Prices are usually lowest in January, and highest in April and at the peak of the spring and summer season. There are few hotels, so booking ahead pays off especially.
The most convenient are the Town Centre and the Ocean Village marina, close to attractions and restaurants. It can be cheaper on the Spanish side of the border, in La Línea de la Concepción.
The currency is the Gibraltar pound, equal to the British pound. Cards are widely accepted and ATMs are easy to find. In practice British pounds also circulate.
Gibraltar follows the same entry rules as the United Kingdom. EU citizens enter with an ID or passport, while travellers from the US and Canada need only a passport. People from other countries may need a visa. The exact rules depend on your citizenship.
