Redesigned by Mackintosh contemporary, George Walton, the Elmbank hotel is home to one of the finest and most complete Art Nouveau collections in the UK. York’s ancient city walls can be reached in just 10 minutes’ walk, with a further 5 to 10 minutes’ walk taking guests to the historic attractions, including the spectacular York Minster. Alternatively there is a bus stop outside the hotel, and from there a bus in to town takes 3 minutes.

York Railway Station is just a 10-minute walk or few minutes by car, and the Elmbank has limited parking. There is also a bus stop near the hotel, with sightseeing tours going in to town. York Racecourse is a few minutes' away.
