Hotels in Baguio: prices and the best time to book
Baguio sits in the Cordillera Central mountains at around 1,500 metres and is known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. It draws visitors with its cool climate, where temperatures usually stay between 15 and 23 degrees, its pine forests and the crisp mountain air that the lowlands lack. It is a base for strolls around Burnham Park, shopping and local markets, with city life concentrated along Session Road. Room rates depend heavily on the season: in February, during the Panagbenga flower festival, they can almost double, while in the rainy season they drop noticeably. Our list covers 1 075 properties. Below you will find real nightly rates, the cheapest dates to book and a short guide to the area.
When to book for the lowest price
The priciest month in Baguio is without doubt February, when Panagbenga takes place and rates climb tens of percent above the usual level. It is also dearer in the cool months from December to February, when Filipinos escape the lowland heat up here. The cheapest stretch is the rainy season, roughly June to September, when traffic eases and rooms can drop by more than a third; August and September are often the cheapest dates of the year. Within the week the highest prices fall on a Friday, while it is cheaper early in the week and on a Sunday. The best rates come from booking about a month before arrival.
How much a stay in Baguio costs by property type
Most of it comes down to standard and the kind of property. A large share of the stock here is transient houses and condo units by the night, that is private flats for short stays, often the cheapest option for a couple or family. Ordinary 3-star hotels sit higher, and a four-star place with a mountain view runs a multiple of that. The rates below are real starting prices per night from current offers.
| Property type | Price per night (from) |
| Transient houses and budget rooms | from approx. PHP 1,120 |
| Apartments and condo units by the night | from approx. PHP 2,100 |
| 3-star hotels | from approx. PHP 3,200 |
| 4-star hotels | from approx. PHP 5,500 |
| Upper-tier and mountain-view hotels | from approx. PHP 8,300 |
Indicative nightly rates, strongly dependent on the season (noticeably higher in February and during Panagbenga than in the rainy season). Check exact prices and availability by selecting your dates in the search above.
Which hotel suits whom
- Families. Spacious condo units with a kitchenette near Burnham Park and hotels with room for children work well, such as Hotel Elizabeth or Grand Sierra Pines, within a walk of the park and the market.
- Couples. For a quiet stay, intimate properties and design hotels work well, such as Giraffe Boutique Hotel or G1 Lodge Design Hotel, close to the centre and restaurants.
- Breakfast included. Hotels with breakfast in the rate, such as El Cielito Hotel or Hotel Elizabeth, combine comfort with a good location near Session Road.
- Mountain view. Properties higher up the slopes, such as Grand Sierra Pines, offer views over the pine-clad hills, away from the bustle of the centre.

Where to stay
The handiest area is the very centre, around Session Road and Burnham Park, where most hotels, restaurants and shops cluster, all within a walk. It is a good base if you want to mix sightseeing with shopping and avoid relying on taxis. It is calmer and greener higher up the slopes, around Camp John Hay, Mines View Park and Outlook Drive, where intimate properties with a view sit among the pines, handy if you want quiet. From there the centre is a taxi or jeepney ride away.
When Baguio is more expensive
The season in Baguio is set by the weather and the events calendar. The highest prices and biggest crowds fall in the cool, dry months from December to February, when lowlanders escape the heat up here, and in February, when the streets fill with the parades and flower floats of the Panagbenga festival. That is when rooms need booking well ahead and prices reach their yearly peak. It is calmest and cheapest in the rainy season, roughly June to September, when afternoon downpours put off some visitors and rates fall noticeably. A good time for a lower price and thinner crowds, if you do not mind changeable weather.
